A Day in the life of..... Quarantine!

  I had a request to do a day in the life of quarantine. So here it is: we wake up when we wake up...lol! I have coffee but not the kids. Then we have breakfast and shower because even though we aren't going anywhere we don't want to smell each other. 

    Then we try to start school work and well the kids do that I try to check emails and messages bc teachers keep in touch. Some days Seth has a worker so I check with them and make sure he is ready for their arrival. I have school stuff to keep track of and make sure the kids are getting stuff done. Video chats and meetings, online work and work sheets, so I have been trying to keep stuff in my calendar to keep track.

     I try to get house work done when I can but honestly my house is a mess and I am fine with that. it won't be not messy for quite awhile. Remember I live with 3 guys and not the neat and clean ones...lol! Seth particularly is very messy so a lot of my day is reminding to clean up his mess. 

     We have been watching TV more than normal because the weather has not been very good here so going outside has been harder. Seth is into wrestlers so we hear about them quite a bit too. I was hoping he would do some puzzles and play some games but that has not happened as much as possible. Fishing is also big for Seth so when the weather is good and Daddy is home they go fishing. He would fish everyday all day if we would let him. We have been trying to suggested other activities for him but he is really out of his routine so he is very confused.

      Basically our day is eat, school, eat, be lazy, eat, be lazy again, go to bed. Then we get up and do it all over again. Nothing glamorous!! It is probably the same as many other people. Well, that is it for me today. Stay Positive and God Bless!!

       The world is a very interesting place right now. Since the middle of March we have been under quarantine which is what they call it. Really we have had stay at home orders, schools are closed, businesses are closed. Only essential workers are allowed to work. It is a crazy time!!! I have lost track but I think we are 5 or 6 weeks in. We were told to stay home as much as possible no unnecessary travel. Kids are being homeschooled, those that can work from home are, churches are closed, we can't visit family and friends or travel. I have never seen anything like this before! Why you ask is all this happening because of a deadly virus sweeping across the world. I am not going to get into the details of the virus...it is a very sensitive subject.           No big deal some say...stay home! The Beginning!!!

   I thought it was important to take you back to the beginning of our Autism story. It began when Seth was born but we didn't really know till he was 3 and not really talking. He only said about 3 words or so, and would scream when we wanted something. It was hard for me to figure out what he wanted most of the time. I had many people tell me he will talk when he is ready. It was heartbreaking for me to see him struggling and not be able to help him. I remember one time when my sister was visiting and we were getting ready to go outside. I got him all ready and he wanted to go and I told him he needed to wait for me to get ready. Well, that did not go over well and he had a meltdown and started screaming. Normally I would hurry and get outside to avoid a meltdown, but my sister made me sit on the couch with her and wait. She said he needs to learn to wait patiently because you can't always hurry.
